* How much is your soul worth?
Yes.............another big, chic shopping center was supposed to come.
No..............instead it was a building site that came. 2007 the first vacated appartment and buisiness houses have been pulled down, since then there is more or less a standstill. Cancelled sale contracts, fraud trials, discussions about revocation of the new development plan...not anybody of the residents that live around the largest ruined fallow land of the inner city still believes in the promised healing of a shopping paradise, that once shined from huge photomontages and promised a boom for the whole quarter. A boom which in all probability would have contained the downfall of other businesses of the inner city, as sceptics said right from the beginning.
Maybe.........this part of the shopping mall wasn't the prettiest even before and of course the district was in need of attention. But in retrospect it worked, it was lived-in, the shops were busy. Now this part of the shopping mall is nearly dead and even though I live quite near to this misery and come along daily I still can't get used to it, but keep wondering and bristle at that sight every day anew.

abandoned construction projects are so common around here, unfortunately. it is always sad to look at i think.
LG Mila
