drawing challenge · shinrin yoku - one year / one picture a day

#31/366 ........shinrin yoku...bathing in the forest...i thought i wouldn't make it for this dc, because my weekend was completely planned and busy...but when i came along this graffiti this early morning, i felt it as a sign to still join in..."peace for the trees, war for the palaces"...usually, the quote says "friede den hütten, krieg den palästen" (= "peace to the shacks, war to the palaces" a quote of georg büchner), but this tree version might be an allusion to a current local conflict about the Hambacher Forst (= Hambach Forest), which is going to be cleared for soft coal open cast mining...the environmentalists put up resistance and fight hard to defend the trees from falling...quite likely for nothing, i'm afraid...

...apart from that i came across these two images two weeks ago on facebook and love them so much...isn't that 'shinrin yoku' at its best?

...well, as i said it before, no time to create something new this weekend, so here's a papercut of september 2012, which fits our theme perfectly, i think...

last not least some pictures taken during my last visit at my home town...the Sauerland is very well known for its wide forests, and as my parents have a dog, it's obligation and fortune to take a daily walk into the forest...while some some people hate it, i always loved taking nature hikes, breathing the air, smelling the earth, listening to peaceful sounds...finally, i have found a term for that...shinrin yoku...thank you, veronica! go and see more about shinrin yoku at her blog.
